THE TWINS (TRA-LA-LA)
Let us tra-la-la through the forest
Let us tra-la-la through the woods
Let us tra-la-la through the living room and the various house doors
Hand-in-hand we skip over the bridge
Hand-in-hand we skip along the path
Hand-in-hand we skip through the pillows, marking our path
Basket in hand, we travel to granny’s
Basket in hand, we wear a red hoody
Basket in hand, we wear our robes, our footies, or our jammys
Tra-la-la on our way, until a wolf
Tra-la-la on our way, until a bear
Tra-la-la until, outside of our heads, there’s really nothing there
“Give me the goodies” the beast cries
“Give me the sweets” says the bear
“Give me the stuffed animals” we have stowed away in the school bags we wear
“No, we will not!”
“No, we will not!”
“We have a mission, to get to a certain spot!”
“Never interfere
With my raiding and taking!”
“Never interfere with a team of brave pairings!”
The young travelers do not budge
The young travelers hold their gaze
Until the imaginary beast must step aside, astonished and phased
The young little travelers go on their way
They skip and they leap,
Knowing that they don’t have to be afraid
They finally reach granny’s
They finish the pillow path
“Any trouble getting here, my sweets?”
“Nothing together we couldn’t get past.”
